Michael Simic has been a professional singer, songwriter, musician, performer, and mentor for 30 years. He has released 17 independent albums, touring widely nationally and internationally as a solo artist and with his long term group Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen. From rock venues and folk festivals to headline shows at Sydney Opera House and sold out seasons on London’s West End, Michael’s work is testament to his boundless energy, musicality, and originality as an artist.
Michael has a deep understanding of voice and how to deliver a song. He’s well versed in a wide variety of genres, including pop, rock, folk, country, blues, and world music, and is schooled in music theatre and cabaret. He is also open to working in contemporary styles of hip hop.Â
Michael is passionate about supporting young people on their musical journey and specialises in one on one mentoring and teaching focusing on voice, creativity, and personal expression. He believes that anyone can find their unique creative voice if they are encouraged and well supported.
He is based in the arts-rich town of Braidwood, where he is raising a young family, writing and creating music, and running private lessons with primary aged kids and young people to help them develop their singing, musicianship and song writing.
