The Commitments bring the soul to Winter
Goulburn was treated to an awesome night of music at the Hume Conservatorium Annual Winter Feast Fundraiser Dinner. The Hume Con Staff band and friends brought some soul to the audience with an amazing tribute to 1991 movie the Commitments. Consisting of a dream team of local talent including Garth Prentice (Lead Vocal), Keva Abotomey (Vocals), Charlotte Lock (Vocals)
Corbey-lea Will (Vocals), Liam King (Guitar), Ron McLaughlin (Bass Guitar), Mike Baker (Piano), Andy Picker (Organ), Julian Pavior (Trumpet) and Geoff Bell (Drum Kit).
The audience were treated to a generous 2 course meal supplied by Roundabout Roasts and a raffle was held on the night raising $3200 toward the Hume Conservatorium Scholarship and Bursary program. This outcome from a single event means that Hume Con will be able to subsize fees for up to 6 students.Â
The night featured all the best music from the 1991 musical comedy-drama. Including Mustang Sally, Chain of Fools, Take me to the River, Treat her Right and In the Midnight Hour. Supporters shook off the winter chill with a wine, a heaty dinner and the premium entertainment of the Hume Con Staff band and Friends.
Scholarship and bursary applications open in October. Follow us on social media and don’t miss a thing.
